A Sugar Land resident is suing the City of Houston after, he says, an improperly
maintained manhole cover caused him serious harm.
Sugar Land Michael Lee filed a lawsuit on Nov. 17 in Harris County District
Court against the City of Houston, citing negligence.
Lee says on Dec.5, 2009, he sustained injuries when he fell several feet
into a partially covered manhole, located at the intersection of 2100
San Jacinto and 1200 Gray. According to the brief, the city maintained
the property where Lee was injured and should have properly monitored
the manhole.
Lee is seeking damages and court costs. He is being represented in the
case by Houston attorney Cassandra Evans-Jones.
