Sofia Maria Straus is a third generation Houstonian raised in Spring Branch. As the proud daughter of a Cuban immigrant, Sofia is fluent in Spanish. She graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in communication and a minor in Spanish for native speakers. During her time at the University of Houston, Sofia studied abroad in Cadiz, Spain and won a student service award for her contributions and dedication to the school.
Shortly before graduating from the University of Houston, Sofia was offered the position as Studio Manager for the oldest continuously operating recording studio in America where she worked for three years. She was also a member of the Recording Academy. She is grateful to her former co-workers for supporting her decision to pursue a career in law.
Sofia Attended South Texas College of Law Houston and was 5th in her graduating class. Dedicated to her legal studies, she became a Langdell Scholar and a Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Fellow, teaching constitutional law and moot court to high school students. Sofia held an officer position for the Phi Delta Phi Honors Society. She also took the opportunity to study abroad once more, but this time in Santiago, Chile.
When Sofia is not zealously advocating for her clients, you can find her spending quality time with her pug, Leon, or at the gym practicing hot yoga, cycling, or power-lifting.
