Oppose House Bill 274

http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/news/local/110511-heated-debate-over-loser-pay-laws

Don't  fall for the "frivolous lawsuits" scare again!  Citizens of the great state of Texas, your rights to bring meritorious claims against people or companies that have wronged you or your family are under serious attack in Austin right now.

The "Loser Pays" legislation being forced through the house this session is not good for anyone but the wrong doer big businesses in our state.  Under the provisions of this law, a Texas citizen could take a valid lawsuit to court, win and still owe attorney's fees and expenses to the wrong doer!  Not surprisingly this bill is sponsored and spear headed by the Koch brothers and Koch industries as well as Chevron, GE and the Texas Public Policy Foundation (corporate front group). The Leon Law Firm www.theleonlawfirm.com suggests you call your local Senator today and express your dislike for this bill!  Enough already on the attack on our rights!
